With all of the daily challenges that get thrown at us, sometimes it’s just hard to know what to do. My goal is to help you find the freedom to create your unique life worth living, for the long-term. I use evidence-based behavioral techniques (DBT, CBT, ACT) to reinforce independence in your daily life so you can live life brightly.
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (trainer Charles Swenson, M.D.) and have approximately 120 hours of DBT specific training, including DBT-PE for PTSD, from highly regarded providers such as Behavioral Tech and The Practice Ground. I am also formally trained to provide exposure with response prevention for people challenged by obsessive compulsive and related disorders, as well as anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder). I specialize in complex presentations of borderline personality disorder, OCD, and trauma, and am passionate about helping people trying to manage multiple concerns including suicidality, self-harm, dissociation and occasional hallucinations. I have provided both inpatient (in a comprehensive DBT program) and outpatient services for people with multilayered presentations. I have also supervised graduate students in their use of DBT and other clinical skills. As a Family Connections leader, I provide free DBT skills training for family and friends of people with BPD.
